Unfortunately as a small business Trip Advisor does not work well for us. We cannot sell our service via their website so our listing with them advertises “competitors” who do sell via Trip Advisor.

Gus was the perfect guide and driver - he is a master story teller and history teacher and we learned so much more than anticipated about Scottish history, geography, sites, etc. We saw more and learned way more than anticipated! The van with his speaker system so we could hear was perfect for us. No need to hire a separate tour of any of the castles or battlefield as we had our own expert explaining all to us on the way to each site! There was a ferry schedule change and our driver Gus managed the ferry change etc for us so we didn't have to do anything. Ross puts in a lot of activities so you know all the options. We did most but also opted for later checkouts due to jet lag etc. This is a totally private tour so you can change whatever you want and your driver will accommodate and recommend changes based on what you want to do. Our only regret was that we wish we had gone more than a week. We did one night on the isle of Mull in Tobermary but wish we had time to explore the island and neighboring islands with a few more days there. Anyway, a great trip and we will highly recommend to anyone wanting to do totally custom and private deep dive into Scotland, it's beauty and history. We took a chance with a tour company we were unfamiliar with based on the stellar reviews and were not disappointed. It was a fantastic tour! We missed the first day of our tour due to unforeseen circumstances in our family, but the tour company pivoted beautifully and seamlessly to maximize our experience. Right from the planning stage it was clear we made a good choice as the insights and ideas that Ross gave us vastly improved our itinerary and made sure that we were arriving at certain locations on the best days for the events we were seeking. We started our tour in Aberdeen and met our driver Ewan. His knowledge and love of his country was unparalleled. A very kind and respectful man with a thousand entertaining and often hilarious stories of his impressive life. He rearranged things meticulously when we wanted to add something and always had a solution to any question we had. We can’t say enough about him as Ewan was an integral part of making our trip so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined. We would recommend Your Scotland Tour to everyone and would book with them again in a heartbeat…especially if promised to have Ewan as our driver/guide!

We clearly turned up to some of our destinations on the tour with no provisions of the owner trying to contact them re our requirements and he spoke to them in a very rude manor and also used excuses with the venues.

I'm so sorry to see you've had a bad experience visiting Scotland. I'm glad to report though that Your Scotland Tour was not the company you booked with. If you had booked with us your experience would not have been of rude guides or your requirements having not been met. I have no record of someone by the name of Scott booking this year. However I would like more details of this problem to be 100% sure you weren't in a booking with a group of another name so please email [email protected] with your booking reference number, lead contact for the booking and the name of your guide as per the itinerary file sent 2 months prior to your tour starting so I can investigate and check the details. Our six day tour of the Highlands and the Islands of Mull, Iona, and Skye was fantastic!! We loved every minute of it!! Ross made planning so easy with quick responses and great ideas. A Shout-out to our driver-extraordinaire, Gus! With him, everything was seamless; all my husband and I ever had to do was show up! The time in the car literally flew by as he regaled us with the history and folklore of Vikings, Scots, Fairies, and other supernatural beings. Occasionally, these anecdotes were accompanied by music that enhanced the experience. Listening to the "Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond" was so moving that it almost brought me to tears! In addition to his wit and knowledge, Gus is an excellent and safe driver. He never lost patience and politely gave way to other vehicles that we encountered. He made "pitstops" whenever needed and never once told us to wait because we were almost at our destination. Now, let’s not forget the Mastermind! Ross’s behind-the-scenes planning truly set the stage for this outstanding holiday! The routes, distilleries, and itineraries chosen were excellent! Furthermore, the hotels and restaurants recommended and booked were well-suited to our taste and needs; they also provided a venue for great memory making! We are considering possibly visiting Edinburgh at the end of October, and if we do, we are considering going to Skye. Without a doubt, we will be reaching out if it comes to fruition!! I would give 10 stars to Your Scotland Tour if I had that option on TripAdvisor -- we had a superb time with Gus Cameron, our tour guide and resident history scholar. Everything about this week was superb, from the comfort of the automobile to the expert driving, in-depth historical context, humor and professionalism of our guide. We had the flexibility to adjust our itinerary when necessary, and once Gus understood our interests and energy level, he was able to suggest additional areas of interest to suit us. I also enjoyed the ease of working with Ross Shand, the company owner. But it was Gus that really made the trip for my friend and me. I strongly recommend this tour company!

I had 36 hours to spend in the Edinbough area and Ross, the company owner, made sure that those 36 hours were used effeciently. She was an experienced guide with a great knowledge and love of Scotland.
